The Blackhawks are in contention for the first overall pick in the draft and are near the cellar of the entire league in the standings, yet fans are still packing the United Center to show their support.
Attendance waivered a little in early November, reaching an ugly low of 12,523 fans. However, the Blackhawks have been playing well at home this season. They are 7-2-1 in their last ten home games and the fans are seeming to enjoy the Patrick Kane show recently.
The pop from the crowd when Kane put the puck in the back of the net brought back memories to the packed houses on a nightly basis during the Stanley Cup runs. The Blackhawks' faithful came out against Toronto to the tune of 20,979 strong, marking their second highest attendance number of the season.
While much of the recent surge in attendance can be explained by the uncertainty of Patrick Kane's future in Chicago, the recent one-ice success is playing a big role. The numbers are just another argument as to why Blackhawks fans are the best in the entire league.
