Police Bodycam Footage Reveals Disturbing Scene With Ex-NHL Star
An arrest video of ex-NHLer Alex Galchenyuk has been released by the Scottdale police in Arizona.
The video rightfully will live in infamy, as Galchenyuk was swiftly dismissed from the NHL. Prior to the news of the incident being released, Galchenyuk was waived by the Arizona Coyotes.
Newly released body camera footage taken by responding Scottsdale Police officers show the interaction they had with Alex Galchenyuk after he and his dad were pulled over by officers.
A police report indicated that property damage had been caused and a law enforcement officer had been threatened.
It is laid bare for us all to see in the video.
As a result of being placed on waivers and being placed in the NHL players assistance program, he immediately signed with SKA St. Peterburg in the KHL.
In addition to being charged with private property damage, hit-and-run, disorderly conduct, failure to obey, and resisting arrest, he would plead guilty to the charge of misdemeanor threatening an officer.
As part of his sentence, he was sentenced to 30 days in jail, but that would be reduced after he completed an alcohol recovery program.
Galchenyuk currently plays in the KHL with the SKA St. Peterburg HC and looks like he is unlikely to crack an NHL lineup ever again.
