There has been some controversy surrounding a young promising Blackhawks prospect by the name of Ian Mitchell.

The young defensemen has truly excelled his game in the American Hockey League and seems to slot into the Blackhawks rebuilding plans quite well, but there's one issues, Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson won't play him.

Ian Mitchell told reporters he was frustrated as he has gotten no explanation as to why he has been benched for the last four games, and also four games earlier into the season. The Blackhawks had the young defensemen called up and were wasting valuable time that he could be using to develop in the AHL, but they chose to sit him in the press box each night.

Blackhawks fans voiced their frustrations via social media, and so did we. Questioning the reason as to why an aging Caleb Jones who won't be with the Blackhawks for much longer, and why he is taking up a slot on the roster, rather then a younger defensemen who will be with the Blackhawks throughout their rebuild for the next few years.

Well, they've sure listened!

Mrazek is starting in net tonight. Ian Mitchell will replace Caleb Jones.
