Forward Andreas Athanasiou accidentally took a high stick from teammate Sam Lafferty and left the ice bloodied. One Blackhawks reporter stated it was a puck, so it's truly unknown what the cause is. It sounds like Athanasiou avoided any serious injuries from the high stick and should be available Tuesday against Anaheim. Athanasiou has been the Blackhawks quiet star, using his speed and abilities to really prove his $3m per year worth.

The Blackhawks received some good news yesterday as they held their first practice after the league's all-star break. Tyler Johnson will return to the lineup after injuring his ankle halfway through December against Vegas.

Defenseman Jarred Tinordi got the screws and bands removed from his face from an injury suffered by taking a puck to the face. Tinordi will likely return Friday against the Arizona Coyotes. Jujhar

Khaira is recovering nicely from his back injury and has been working out. Khaira is expected to start skating soon and should return shortly after. Goaltender Alex Stalock is hoping to accompany the Blackhawks on the road trip this weekend that starts Saturday night in against the Winnipeg Jets.

The trade deadline is quickly approaching, which makes some of these Blackhawks finally getting healthy quite important. You never know who team's may be inquiring about, so having a healthy roster heading towards the deadline gives Kyle Davidson more flexibility to make some moves.
