REPORT: NHL Set to Make HUGE Schedule Change For Next Season
According to Sportico, the league is looking to make a huge change to team's schedules which many fan bases may be a fan of..
If your favourite NHL team has a rival, bundle up, because next season may be a fun one..
Exclusive: The NHL is considering overhauling its schedule.
Team owners and executives have recently discussed efforts to create more games between geographic rivalsand ultimately generate more money.
As soon as next season, teams like Edmonton and Calgary could play as many as eight games against each other, rather than the current three.
The idea behind this shift was partially bolstered by the NHL's COVID-disrupted 2020-21 season, when the league redrew all four divisions.
The Battle of Alberta, Florida, Ontario and many other rivarlies acrossed the NHL facing off against each other double the amount of prior season? Why not? This seems like one of the smartest ideas the NHL has came up with.
