After the Philadelphia Flyers honoured former Flyers captain Claude Giroux during his first game back in Philadelphia, emotions were at an all-time high when the Ottawa Senators came to Philly.
Due to the heightened emotions, two fights broke out within the first fourteen minutes of play. Defenseman Tony DeAngelo and forward Travis Konecny both dropped the gloves, as seen in the videos below:
Travis Konecny struck Thomas Chabot, a prominent defenseman for the Ottawa Senators, hard in the closing minutes of the game, but no penalties were assessed. Despite the fact that Konecny may face a suspension or fine, many Senators supporters feel Konecny should have a hearing with theNHL player safety committee. It looks that Chabot put himself in a vulnerable position before taking the hit.
Chabot is now placed on the injury reserve, you be the judge if Konecny should face a suspension or not.
