The infamous dilemma of players striking gold on the ice during a contract year, is just that for organizations throughout the sporting world.
It was reported recently by Frank Seravalli that Rodrigues agent convinced him to turn down a three-year $10.5 million contract offer, which led to the 2021-22 breakout star firing him.
Since the firing, Rodrigues has moved on to another agent, and the player-agent duo were able to lockdown a one-year, $2 million deal.
Surely he is glad to be playing and making good money, but it's hard to fathom that he wouldn't want to cash in. The memories of his monster season are still very well-known.
A not so great scenario where the agent was wrong, and it cost him his job. Is Rodrigues worth $3.5 million a season, or is the one-year $2 million deal more of a reasonable dollar amount? Comment below with your thoughts.
