The Chicago Blackhawks have two 2nd round picks in the upcoming 2022 NHL Draft. With the Edmonton Oilers still in contention in this year's playoffs, there is still a chance that the 3rd round conditional pick received in the Duncan Keith trade package turns to another second rounder. With a weak forward pool in the system, who are some prospects the Blackhawks should target with their top picks?

Pick 38: Josh Filmon

Filmon (18 years old) is a left winger currently playing with the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League. Filmon has skated in 67 games, tallying 45 points on the season. Filmon comes in at 6'2», 160 pounds. Filmon has grown his game over the last few seasons, shifting from being a one-dimensional playmaker to an all-around solid offensive player and tightening up his defense. Filmon could be a diamond in the rough. He is producing solid offensive numbers for a player projected to go in the 2nd round and could add depth to the Blackhawks' forward pool in Rockford immediately.

Pick 38: Nicholas Moldenhauer
Another option for the Blackhawks at their 38th pick is 18-year-old Nicholas Moldenhauer. Moldenhauer is a 5'10», 170-pound right winger currently playing for Chicago in the USHL. He has tallied 43 points in 41 games played this season and has jumped up nearly 10 spots in the final prospect rankings before the draft. Moldenhauer has a team first mentality and describes himself as a 200-foot player. His offensive production speaks for itself, however as a smaller forward, he might need to add some weight before coming over. He has also expressed interest in playing college hockey, which may help him further sharpen his skills before making a transition to Rockford, similar to Ian Mitchell.

Pick 55: Servak Petrovsky

Servak Petrovsky is a 17-year-old center currently playing for the Owen Sound. Petrovsky tallied 54 points in 65 games played this past season. At 5'10», 172 pounds, Petrovsky surprisingly not afraid to throw his body around to make a play. He is also praised for his passing ability, poise with the puck, shot accuracy, and defensive mind. A player with his skillset would definitely be a great addition to the prospect pool, but there are questions about his age. There is a very realistic possibility that Petrovsky continues to play overseas for the next few seasons before being ready to come to America and play in the AHL. It will be interesting to see if the Blackhawk decide to roll the dice on the young center and see how he matures before offering an entry level deal.

Pick 55: Cedrick Guindon

Cedrick Guindon is an 18-year-old left winger also playing for the Owen Sound. Guindon posted 59 points in 68 games this season. Guindon measures at 5'10», 170 pounds. Like most offensive prospects in this draft, he has a smaller frame, but makes up for it with his offensive potential. Guindon has an impressive career up to this point as a solid two-way player. The Blackhawks could certainly benefit from adding a young player who has proven to be a consistent point producer and also confident and skilled in his own end of the ice.
