Frank Nazar is one of the Blackhawks prospects and has everyone in the organization very hopeful for his future. Nazar was taken 13th overall by Chicago in the 2022 NHL draft and plays both center and right wing. The 19 year-old turned heads in training camp and faced lofty expectations at Michigan this season, but an injury derailed Nazar's season.
Nazar was coming off of a 70 point season for the U.S. National U18 team and a 9 point WJC-18 season prior to the beginning of his first collegiate season at the University of Michigan. Nazar suffered a significant lower-body injury that has kept him sidelined for the last 4 months, but some encouraging news recently broke.
Nazar coming back by the end of the season would be a huge boost for the Michigan team that has been hit with numerous injuries this season. While Nazar has been skating, which is a step forward, I wouldn't count on it just yet. Nazar will most likely return to Michigan for another season since he lost his first full season with injury, so rushing him back before he is ready would pose too much of a risk for Michigan.
