The Blackhawks are impressively dominating the entire NHL in this category
Can't score without the puck, as an old saying goes. Well Chicago has led in first touches of the puck. Obviously Jonathan Toews is finding old form, looking at a 59.62% percentage at the dot. However, Max Domi is looking at 3rd place when facing off. His percentage sits at 61.63%. While not as well in the standings Andreas Athanasiou has a 1 for 4 average, while Colin Blackwell sits at about 45%.
Where this really comes into play though is on the power play where the Blackhawks have had a 24.3 percent success rate, as well as overtime.
Tonight Chicago faces Los Angeles, who they defeated in the two team's last meeting in overtime. Toews lifted his team to victory by winning a puck and continuing to maintain the puck until it found his stick for an easy tap in.
Surely the work at the dot has established the early successes in Chicago.
