With the NHL season over on the ice the Rumours season has heated up ahead of the NHL draft and free agency.
One name that's been getting alot of talk is goaltender of the Anaheim Ducks
John Gibson. There's been rumours Gibson secretly asked for a trade but the Athletic reported that's not the case but the Anaheim Ducks are looking to clear the board and rebuild.
The Ducks General Manager Pat Verbeek knows Gibson's name carries a lot of weight around the league as one of the best goaltenders right now and would definitely bring a huge return if the Ducks decided to trade Gibson.
Gibson who's soon to be 29 currently has a ten-team no-trade list in his contract. He's an American-born player. All though he did play his junior hockey in Canada in the Ontario Hockey League for the Kitchener Rangers Gibson has many of the Canadian teams on his no trade clause.
Hockey Insider Mark Spector reports that Gibson has the Oilers on his no trade list so Oilers Gm Kent Holland will have to look elsewhere for a goaltender.
Gibson has five more years on a contract that pays him a decent $6.4 million dollars annually.
