The NHL's Handling of the WJC Scandal has angered fans
The National Hockey League has yet to reveal any information regarding the resolution to the WJC Scandal that occurred in 2018.
According to NHL Insider Katie Strang, she reached out to Bill Daly to obtain a statement but has not received any response.
"In response to the question of whether the NHL will announce a resolution of the investigation into the WJC 2018 before the opening of NHL training camps, the NHL's Deputy Commissioner, Bill Daly, responded by email that he did not have 'any specific timetable to share at this time'."
Fans have been anticipating a resolution and information about the teams and names involved. However, the league has remained silent, causing the story to die down in the media. And fans weren't buying that excuse:
"Translation: 'Oh...you haven't forgotten about that yet? Darn.'" wrote one fan in response.
"'what we are attempting to do is wait this out until everyone loses interest. Then we won't have to do a goddamned thing". Just be honest, Bill.'"
"What is possibly taking so long. Are they negotiating penalties & suspensions with legal reps of the players before the announcement? At this point London Police needs to announce the charges or no charges and we can all move on to next phase."
There have been rumors circulating that approximately 5 players involved in the scandal will face disciplinary action.
Despite the teams being named, the players remain with their associated clubs. For reference, a list of the 2018 Team Canada WJC Roster.
