NHL insider Chris Johnson has just broke some breaking news for the national hockey league and it's future.
Many teams have struggled with the cap hit last year, Tampa Bay especially being one of them- having to trade away half of their core to fit with the NHL's salary cap expectations.
Some teams are stuck with bad contracts, like the Chicago Blackhawks. Jonathan Toews & Patrick Kane are both locked in at $10.5 MILLION on a lengthy contract stint. For the teams rebuilding like the Blackhawks, this is huge and will let them have some more breathing room as they deal with heavy contracts.
