It's not often that you see a hockey trade involving a young six-foot-three inch centerman, who was drafted third overall.
Well, that is the case with
Kirby Dach, formerly of the Chicago Blackhawks.
Dach was dealt to the Montreal Canadiens, via a draft floor trade, and since many NHL fans have been left scratching their heads.
But recently details have emerged, which have determined why the Blackhawks reluctancy to deal Dach faded away.
TSN's Marco D'Amico reported that during an interview with legendary former NHL coach Scotty Bowman, the hockey hall of famer shared some information about the young Canadian center.
D'Amico cited that Bowman told him the biggest issue with Dach were his faceoffs, and that he was no longer fitting into the Blackhawks plans.
It's certainly mind-boggling that the Hawks gave up on Dach without any hesitation, but if the Hawks are looking to totally revamp the organization, moving Dach certainly provides the cold, hard proof of that.
