The Blackhawks have a very bright future, specifically in net. They have a possible future of Jaxson Stauber and Drew Commesso between the posts. They also have a young skater in Anders Bjork who might be coming back. Well, one goalie and Bjork just got a huge opportunity.
Drew Commesso is 20 years old. He was born in Miami. Commesso was a 2020 4th round pick and is panning out really nicely for the Hawks. Chicago owns his rights through the 2025/26 season (it's hard to imagine he won't be signed by then). Commesso currently plays at the University of Boston and had a .913 SV% and a 2.46 GAA, being one of the best goalies in the NCAA. Commesso is being awarded with a spot on the United States National Team to be in between the pipes.
Another player who's getting a huge opportunity is Anders Bjork. Anders is 26 years old. Bjork, like Commesso, was a late round pick, being selected in the 5th round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins. Bjork was traded to Chicago for future considerations (meaning nothing) and had 4 points in 13 games in the Windy City. Bjork needs a new contract, and this could be the last straw for him receiving one. I think he will come back next year.
