The San Jose Sharks are looking to go in a different direction with their goaltending this season, seeming naming Kappo Kähkönen as their starting goaltender going into next season, which makes sense after getting him at the deadline at a hefty price. At 25, it's his time to prove he can manage the expectations of a starting goaltender in the NHL. Does this spell the end of James Reimer and Adin Hill in San Jose?

According to Sheng Peng of NBC sports there are at least 8 possible teams checking in on Reimer and Hill

The Arizona Coyotes, Buffalo Sabres, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, Philadelphia Flyers, Vancouver Canucks, Vegas Golden Nights and Washington Capitals are checking in on what it would take to get either Reimer or Hill away from the Sharks

Reimer, 34, is coming off a strong season in San Jose. In 48 games played with the Sharks last season, Reimer posted a 19-17-10 record with 1 shutout, a .911 save percentage and a 2.90 goals against average. With another year on his contract, Reimer might be the easier one to trade, but the Sharks have an unrealistic asking price of a 2nd round pick. That may have worked earlier in the off-season, but it won't now. The asking price needs to go down if they want a deal for Reimer to happen

Hill, 26, is a little bit harder to move on from. He's struggled with injuries over his career, particularly last he playing in just a single game over the last three months of the NHL season. It seems he is finally healthy and with a record of 10-11-1 with 2 shutouts a .906 save percentage and a 2.66 goals against average, it's not unreasonable to think that if he can stay heathy, he can add to a team that needs goaltending help. Although, I'm not sure what the Sharks can get, if anything in return
