In the ongoing saga of «Will he say or will he go», reports are leaning towards Chicago's Captain staying right where he is. Literally.
Toews hasn't played a game since January 28th, and he will not be accompanying the team to Ottawa, either. It's hard to be evaluated for trade deals when no one has see you in almost a month.
And while on the one hand, fans might be relieved to hear they get to keep the leader of their team, we need to think about why he's not going to be traded, and if whatever has been keeping him out this long will force an early retirement, or simply postpone a trade until the summer.
Anyone who's followed the Blackhawks for any length of time is well aware of Toews' recent medical issues, which made it all the more meaningful when he was playing well.
At this point, it's basically impossible to imagine any team will take him by the March deadline. It's February 16th, and he only just got back on the ice by himself, let alone with the team, today. There's still a long road to recovery ahead of him, and it looks like he'll be doing it in Chicago.
