Sam Lafferty has become a fan favorite in Chicago over the past two seasons. He's not the most skilled player, but he sure can skate. His skating ability is what allows him to be as competitive as he is. He also measures in 6' 1» so he's not the smallest guy out there either. His size and skating allows him to create plays on a nightly basis.
Friday night, the hawks picked up an overtime win against the Ottawa Senators. During the game, Sam Lafferty also picked up a goal. However, his goal came while the team was on the penalty kill. Not only did he get a short handed goal, but he also tied Reilly Smith for the most short handed goals (4) in the NHL this season.
Sam Lafferty continues to up his trade value, but the Blackhawks might consider keeping him around for the future. Lafferty's skating and penalty killing abilities make him a good asset to any team.
