Is that what the goaltenders want, as well? In Allan Walsh's (Fleury's agent) most recent podcast, he confirmed that Fleury does indeed want to play one more year.

And in Fleury's post-season interview with the Wild, he expressed his happiness with their organization.
«It was such a great time, loved the time [in Minnesota] and everything, Made it very appealing to play here. Definitely [I'd consider coming back].
I'm glad I came, I'm glad I got the opportunity to play with this team. Such a great locker room, great chemistry between the guys and the staff, coaches. Even people around town, when I went to restaurants and stuff, everybody was very welcoming and nice. They love the game, they love their hockey here, so it was good to live this.»

Anyone who knows Fleury, knows how much he values his family, and what's best for them. That's why it took him some time before agreeing to go to Chicago in the first place. He had to make sure he was doing right by his family. So the question remains - if he does stick with his wanting to play one more year decision - where will he be? He seems to be doing well in Minnesota, and they obviously are a good enough team to make another playoff run, which we know he wants. However, will his family have to move, again, knowing it's just for a year? Or will they stay in Chicago, while he commutes to Minnesota? Or, will being home with them during this off-season change his mind, completely, and he'll retire? I doubt that last one will happen, but you never know. Plus, now that DeBoer is out of Vegas, does that change things on that front? The announcement of his firing came after the Wild presser, and it was apparent that the two were not each other's favorites. However, it was still the GM/Front office who sent Fleury unceremoniously on his way, so even with DeBoer gone, there are still major trust issues there.
In the end, we've seen that Fleury still has a lot to offer any team he's part of. Does Pittsburgh still want him to come home? Of course. Pretty much any team he's been part of, and even those he hasn't, would love to have him. But Fleury has beyond earned the right to make his own choices. So for now, we'll wish him a happy off-season, and keep watch for his return.
