First and foremost, let it be known that Jonathan Toews has a no-trade clause in his contract. Meaning the Blackhawks won't trade him to any team that he does not approve. Similar to the
Marc-Andre Fleury situation earlier this year. In that situation, the Blackhawks were able to get a conditional second round pick in return, which can be turned into a first round pick. This situation differs however due to the fact that the Blackhawks are not in as urgent of a place to move Toews as they were Fleury. It was no secret that the Blackhawks were looking to trade Fleury before the deadline. With Toews, there is no deadline. Kyle Davidson has all off-season to shop around and get what he wants in return, which should be at least a first round draft pick.
