The following four players are perfect examples of having a standout/breakout season, after a not so strong season the previous year.
Here are the four players who made the list, and would compete for the M.I.P award for the 2021-22 season, if there were such an award.
Lets breakdown a 2020-21 and 2021-22 season comparison in terms of goals, assists and points, over the respective amount of games player per year, per player.
Nazem Kadri - In 2020-21 Kadri played 56 games, scoring 11 goals, 21 assists for 32 points. In comparison to his 2021-22 season, which he played 71 games, scoring 28 goals, 59 assists for 87 points.
Jonathan Huberdeau - Huberdeau scored 20 goals, 41 assists for 61 points through 55 games played during the 2020-21 season. He followed that up with a monstrous, offensive explosion during the 2021-22 season, posting 30 goals, 85 assists for 115 points through 80 games played.
Chris Kreider - The Rangers big power forward played 50 games in 2020-21, which he put up 20 goals, 10 assists for 30 points. Fast forward to the 2022-23 campaign, and Kreider looked like a totally different player, scoring 52 goals, 25 assists for 77 points, through 81 games played.
Ryan Hartman - The Minnesota Wild forward has never really been viewed as an offensive catalyst for his team, however, the statistics speak for themselves. Hartman played 51 games in 2020-21, he managed seven goals, 15 assists for 22 points, and, well the following season, he put up 34 goals, 31 assists for 65 points, through a full 82 games in the 2021-22 season.
