The Chicago Blackhawks and general manager Stan Bowman will have some interesting work to get done this offseason.Corey Crawford will become UFA while Malcolm Subban, Slater Koekkoek, Dylan Strome, Dominik Kubalik and Drake Caggiula will all be RFA. With only $7million in projected cap space at the moment, Bowman will have to get creative to keep some of those guys around. One option that's been mentioned is the possibility of buying out guys like Olli Mattaa and Zack Smith. Bowman commented on the idea recently when speaking to The Athletic. "Well, it's always a possibility. I don't know if this year's any different than past years. I think what you do is you look at what you want to accomplish, how you want to build your team, the cap constraints and then you come to a decision which could or could not involve … We haven't made those determinations on which way we're going to go or how we're going to be reshaping our team. So, I would say it's not different than previous years, and we're going to go through the same process we normally would to try to make changes to put us in a good position for next year." What do you think of Bowman's comments?
