"The Chicago Blackhawks and general manager Stan Bowman announced they'll be buying out a contract. Bowman placed forward Matej Chalupa on unconditional waivers for the purpose of a buyout. The 23 year old came over from the Czech league and played for the Rockford IceHogs last year where he registered 7 points in 27 games. Things just haven't worked out for the forward and it doesn't sound like he was interested in another season in the AHL. More details to come.
In addition to Lehtonen (CLB), Matej Chalupa (CHI) is also on unconditional waivers for purposes of a buyout. — Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC) October 12, 2021
