"The Chicago Blackhawks put together a dominant win last night in Buffalo as they beat the Sabres 7-3. It's an interesting win as it has them only three points out of last place in the Western Conference but at the same time has them just five points out of a playoff spot. Despite the Hawks staying alive in the playoff race, that wasn't the big subject of conversation yesterday. All anybody was talking about was the Duncan Keith trade rumors. According to NHL insider Pierre LeBrun, the Blackhawks will sit down with Keith at some point before the trade deadline and ask him to waive his no movement clause.Mark Lazerus of The Athletic asked Keith if he's willing to stick around as the Blackhawks rebuild and Keith had quite the interesting answer. "What's a rebuild or a retool, who knows what that is? New Jersey was good last year and now they're not good this year. So what happened? I don't know. ... The league's different now. One year you're good, the next year you're not."
It's an interesting point as last year 8 of the 16 teams that made the playoffs weren't in it the year before.
