It was revealed on the X platform the former NHL enforcer Kelly Chase was diagnosed with cancer and he recently shared his update on his ongoing battle.

Just over a year ago, Chase had told the world that he is facing a battle with leukemia and after his first round of treatment, chase announced today that the cancer is back and he's in for the fight of his life yet again.

Even though the news is grim, it appears that his brother has 100% bone marrow match which will bode well for his recovery. Leukemia is a form of blood cancer that is set in the bone marrow. In order to help recover and rid themselves of the cancer, a donor will need to provide him bone marrow to help replace the marrow that's lost.

The undrafted chase began his career in the NHL in 1989 and it stretched through 2000. He began with the Saint Louis Blues to which he had stops with the Hartford whalers, Toronto Maple Leafs and then back to the Blues.

He played 458 games in the NHL while scoring 17 goals with 36 assists for 53 points and was a - 14. The biggest stat he had was penalty minutes as he was the enforcer and the tough guy for each team he played. He had an eye watering 2017 penalty minutes. He won the King Clancy memorial trophy in 1998 for his work with the community.

We here at Hawks Insider wish him a quick recovery.
