"The Chicago Blackhawks are trying to get a deal done with goalie Corey Crawford. They recently offered the goalie a one year deal and are awaiting his response on the contract offer. It's hard to see the Hawks really giving Crawford anything more than a one year deal, maybe pushing it to two years. But what happens after Crawford? The organization doesn't exactly have much goalie depth or bright young prospects waiting in the wings and that's why Scott Powers of The Athletic reports the team will likely be willing to use either their first or second round pick on a goalie. They likely have targets in both rounds according to Powers. "The Blackhawks would be interested in goalie Yaroslav Askarov if he's still on the board at No. 17, but they and many others don't expect him to be available. One source also didn't believe the Blackhawks would take a goalie in the second or third round. If the Blackhawks did want to use their second-round or either of their third-round picks for a goalie, one goalie scout thought Drew Commesso of the U.S. National Team Development Program would be a safe pick for them."Do you want to see the Hawks draft a goalie early?
