The Tkachuk Brothers Respond To Allegations of Staged Fights in USA vs CAN
According to reports JT Miller, Matthew, and Brady Tkachuk had planned to fight before the game between Canada and Team USA.
On Saturday night we saw an electrifying match between Team USA and Canada they would give us highlight reel moments for a decade.
Both would enter the penalty box and give each other the kind of support you'd expect complimenting each other's skills, and it was worth a nice little chuckle too.
JT Miller would get in on the action too as he dropped the mitts with Blues defenseman
Colton Parayko.
However, there have been accusations that the fight was staged.
Contrary to the sort, JT Miller and the "Bash Brothers" aka the Tkachuks would address that rumor.
Miller would state how much he respects the Canadian squad, despite the tensions that are ongoing at the moment.
"That was pretty fun. That was the coolest experience I've probably had on the ice, one of them. To hear the building like that, it's something you'll never forget. There's a lot of bad blood, but at the same time, tons of respect for the other team." Miller said according to Mollie Walker of the New York Post.
During their press conference both Matthew and Brady would address the fact that there was a group chat between the team, where they all agreed they'd find a way to fight with someone.
"We had a little discussion earlier in the day," Brady said.
Matthew chimed in by saying, "Tell them the truth,"
Brady added, "There was a group chat going on today. Still something [inaudible].We just reaffirmed we are gonna do that. I think Matthew's fight to start off was such an energy boost. I was more excited and more nervous than my own and Miller's to cap it off to go against a big guy like that, I think he did a great job. I think it was pretty awesome to us."
The fights would set the Bell Centre crowd on fire, later the game's first goal would be scored by
Connor McDavid.
Despite Canada striking first in the beginning five minutes of the match, Team USA would score three unanswered goals to secure a spot in the tournament's championship.
Canada would later find a way to win and secure a rematch after they defeated Finland 5-3 today.
The rematch will take place in TD Garden in Boston at 8 PM on Thursday. Watch as the Tkachuk's, and the Bruins' own Marchand will fight for the Four Nations Face-Off final prize.
