"It was a bit of a surprise move two seasons ago when the Chicago Blackhawks and general manager Stan Bowman shipped hometown boy Vinnie Hinostroza out of town. The Chicago native found himself part of the Marian Hossa salary dump that saw Hossa traded to Arizona along with Hinostroza and Jordan Oesterle for Marcus Kruger, MacKenzie Entwistle, Jordan Maletta and Andrew Campbell. After two seasons in Arizona, the Coyotes did not give Hinostroza a qualifying offer as a restricted free agent and he'll now become a free agent. The 26 year old lived up to expectations during the 2018-19 season as he scored 16 goals however had a bit of a slow season this year with just five goals in 68 games. He's coming off a contract that paid him $1.5million and would likely be looking for around the same. Would you like to see Hinostroza back in the Blackhawks' uniform?
Per source, the Coyotes will not tender a qualifying offer to RFA forward Vinnie Hinostroza. He will become a UFA. — Craig Morgan (@CraigSMorgan) October 6, 2020
