Former First Round Draft Pick's Contract Has Been Terminated
Former first-round draft pick for the Chicago Blackhawks, Nicolas Beaudin, has had enough of the Montreal Canadiens system.
He was most recently playing in the AHL with the Laval Rocket but wasn't satisfied with his usage on the team.
As a result, the Canadiens and Beaudin agreed to a mutual contract termination, and he has been looking for a new team to play for.
Unfortunately, Beaudin has not found a new contract or team to play for yet, and he cleared waivers today.
This fallout between the two parties came after Beaudin had a decent 2022-2023 season, but the Montreal Canadiens continued to add depth to their prospect pool in Laval, leaving Beaudin as the odd man out.
During his time in Laval, Beaudin played only 55 games with the AHL team and totaled 2 goals, 29 assists for 31 points.
In addition, he has only appeared in 22 NHL games, posting 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points.
