The Chicago Blackhawks's all-star, Connor Bedard, took a bone-crushing hit yesterday, raising concerns of a potential injury to the 19-year-old.

Last night, Friday, January 24, the Chicago Blackhawks faced the Tampa Bay Lightning at their home arena, the United Center.

The game took a concerning turn when Connor Bedard, the Blackhawks' star forward, took a bone-crushing hit by Lightning forward, Michael Eyssimont.

This hit not only worried the crowd, but the impact forced Bedard to miss three shifts following him being leveled.

This created concerns for Bedard fans throughout the stadium as a potential injury is underway for the teams star.

Luckily, Bedard did return to the ice later during the game and contributed an assist on Frank Nazar's goal.

Leaving Bedard at accumulating 45 points, 20 goals and 25 assists, over just 48 games.

Despite the superstars record, these kind of hits can be extremely detrimental to these key-players. This incident has struck discussions on the need for the Blackhawks organization to acquire an enforcer to protect this young star.

Unfortunately, it is noted that none of Bedard's teammates made an immediate responds to Eyssimont's hit, highlighting a potential gap in the team's physical presence.

As the season continues, the Blackhawks will be in need of addressing the physical challenges their young star may face and enforce a protector to ensure the 19-year-old can continue to contribute to his team.
