BREAKING: Members of the Chicago Blackhawks Organization Officially Protest And Go On Strike
In an major move, Chicago journalists, including prominent Chicago Blackhawks writer/reporter Phil Thompson and other team reporters, are set to go on strike for 24 hours tomorrow.
This marks the first strike in the history of the Chicago Tribune, as reported by CT Guild.
"Chicago Tribune journalists are going on strike for 24 hours tomorrow for the first time in history. CTGuild has bargained for a fair contract since 2018.
Alden responded by offering functional pay cuts & fewer benefits despite the Trib's profits. We're done playing games."
The strike comes after the journalists have been negotiating for a fair contract since 2018, and the company has taken to 'X' (formerly known as Twitter) to issue multiple large statements:
The management, represented by Alden, responded with proposals involving functional pay cuts and reduced benefits, despite the Tribune's profitable standing.
