The Chicago Blackhawks have a ways to go before the team is a contender again according to Nick Foligno. After footage surfaced between Captain Nick Foligno and Jason Dickinson, there was speculation that the team could be experiencing some turmoil.

Dickinson would show his frustration in an altercation with the Captain, while Foligno would attempt to shut down the center.

Foligno was asked about the team's compete level, and he addressed numerous topics during an interview with the CHGO Blackhawks Podcast.

Captain Nick Foligno and his Blackhawks teammates understand the fan base's frustration, and, to them, it feels "1000% worse."

Obviously, the 1000% worse surfaced on the ice today.

The team has a 13-25-2 record, and 8th in the Central Division.

Foligno feels the team feels worse than the fans right now when it comes to frustration and emphasizes they're not going to be Stanley Cup contenders overnight.

But being realistic, none of us expected them to win a Stanley Cup as soon as Bedard arrived.

Foligno's statement that they need to hold onto hope, and practice better discipline shows where his head is at right now. In a way, he's not wrong, as the team has failed to play on both ends of the ice, as they lost to a bottom-feeding New York Rangers team 6-2.

While Foligno himself is attempting to save face for himself and the club, perhaps he and GM Kyle Davidson could go over notes on how to handle PR.

GM Kyle Davidson has sold us on "improvement", while Foligno sells "hope" and admits the team needs discipline.

It sounds like the product on the ice, doesn't have the merit to reflect the product sold by the front office.

Do better?
