It's a day that ends in Y, and it's another day where the Blackhawks 3rd line has been providing reliable offense.

Ryan Donato, who is currently on the Blackhawks 3rd line again tonight Centered by Jason Dickinson, and flanked by Ilya Mikheyev provided the scoring tonight.

He scored the Blackhawks 1st goal 9;25 into the 1st period for the Blackhawks, assisted by Alex Vlasic and Jason Dickinson.

The goal happened after Donato opportunistically placed himself in the slot, right in front of Kevin Lankinen, and fired a snapshot, like a beauty.

Donato was out of the lineup recently, due to the fact that Head Coach Luke Richardson felt that Lukas Reichel would be a factor for the team on the fourth line, and has fortunately been proven correct.

But Donato is competing to remain in the lineup and has scored 2 goals in 4 games for the Blackhawks which should be a reason for Luke Richardson to realize the value he provides as a bottom-six scoring option.

Donato went scoreless against the Buffalo Sabres, on October 19th, with 3 shots on goal and playing 11:56 time on ice.

And on October 12th, he'd go scoreless against the Edmonton Oilers, playing 15 shifts with 12:34 time on ice that night. He'd accumulate 2 PIMs though.

Donato recently signed a 2-year deal with the Blackhawks with a $2 Million AAV, and $4 Million total deal.

Last season he played 78 games for the Blackhawks and scored 30 points( 12 G, 18 A) and was a bottom-six forward then as well.

With hope, Ryan Donato can be a player Richardson can trust, while Philipp Kurashev remains a healthy scratch tonight.
