The moves that took place today, as a result of Louis Crevier being placed alongside Alex Vlasic last night. Wyatt Kaiser hasn't been in the lineup since December 12th against the New York Islanders.
Smith has been moved to the IR.
As one of the Blackhawks' top prospects, he failed to take the reins and run with them. The last 5 games Kaiser played for the team, saw him held scoreless with 10 shots on goal, and a -10.
Interim Coach feels Louis Crevier is the next prospect to get a long-term look in the lineup after Kaiser's 28 games this season.
Veteran Center Craig Smith will be placed on IR retroactive to December 12th.
The Blackhawks have also placed depth forward Craig Smith on the injured reserve. Smith has been a fixture on the Blackhawks' fourth line and has had great chemistry with Lukas Reichel and Pat Maroon.
The line itself has not only been a checking line, but they've also contributed to the Blackhawks nightly on offense when there was little to be found from the team's top line during the end of Luke Richardson's era.
In 26 games with the Hawks, Smith has 10 points( 6 G, 4 A) and has been a bright spot during the team's "improvement" year of rebuilding.
There's been no confirmation when he'll return to the ice, Joey Anderson will continue to fill in on RW4.
