Chicago Blackhawks deliver season-ending injury update on their off-season acquisition

The Chicago Blackhawks' investment into goalie Laurent Brossoit may end up never being fruitful, as he won't suit up for the team at all this season.
The Chicago Blackhawks acquired Laurent Brossoit during free agency to bolster a weak goalie corp led by now ex-Hawk, Petr Mrazek.
Brossoit was going to share the crease with Petr Mrazek, but for the former Jets goalie, it's been one obstacle after another.
He underwent surgery to fix a knee injury during the offseason, which would keep him out of the lineup.
Then he would undergo the knife again in November pushing his recovery time out, putting the Blackhawks in a precarious spot.
Having to rely on Arvid Soderblom, and Petr Mrazek to guard the crease, while Brossoit recovers.
We've not had any updates on the goalie until now.
His recovery from his latest meniscus surgery will keep him out of the lineup for the remainder of the year.
This is information GM Kyle Davidson was privy to before acquiring Spencer Knight undoubtedly.
Davidson signed Brossoit to a two-year $6 million deal in July, and his first year has unfortunately been a bust.
With the Seth Jones trade yielding a future #1 goalie in Spencer Knight, you have to wonder if the Blackhawks will have to ponder the future for Brossoit in Chicago.
As he's yet to do more than practice with the team.
Stanley Cup Winner
It's no secret the Brossoit was signed as a goalie who could help the team win down the road potentially.
He's won a Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights and has seen postseason play with the Winnipeg Jets, who he last suited up for in 2023-2024.
Brossoit had a .927 save percentage under Rick Bowness's led Jets that year.
Now, with Petr Mrazek gone, and Drew Commesso, and Adam Gajan waiting in the wings, will Brossoit be the next go?
