Logan Stankoven was one of the major pieces moved in the recent trade which sent Carolina Hurricane Mikko Rantanen to Dallas, and he wasn't happy after the fact.

Stankoven would take a shot at GM Jim Nill and the Dallas Stars after all was said and done.
The up-and-coming Stars center was selected 47th overall in the 2nd round of the 2021 NHL Draft and was thought to have a bright future with the Stars.
Now, he'll have to settle for the climate of Carolina, and Head Coach Rod Brind'Amour.
He wouldn't leave any loose ends when he arrived to put on his new threads.
I'm just thankful that this team wants me and is excited to have me.

Ouch.
The overall comment implies that the Stars weren't interested in keeping him around longer than they had to, as they moved him for Rantanen.
They'd send Stankoven and a slew of picks for the former Avalanche superstar.
He'd expand upon his thoughts and sounded surprised this all went down so suddenly.
I really didn't expect this to happen. But hockey is such a business and you have to understand that as a player. That's what we kind of signed up for.

It doesn't really feel real. I think when you're in an organization for a few years and you create relationships, you know, with the other players and the staff and stuff, it's hard to leave. But starting fresh, it's a new opportunity yeah, disappointed to leave but a new opportunity and I'm really excited to be here with a team that wants me.

He's already become familiarized with the team, and the Lenovo Center as he practiced with the Canes today. The Lenovo Center experience has left him in awe, given how passionate the team's fanbase is.
Just how much gas they play with. They forecheck hard. They compete really hard.

The building's loud. It's really fun to play in the building that really gets into it.
Logan Stankoven is still developing as a top-six center in the NHL and has scored 29 points (9 G, 20 A) in 59 games with the Stars this year.

He's in year two of a three-year deal that pays him $814K AAV.
