The Chicago Blackhawks have failed to trade Ryan Donato, and now the forward issued a statement on his status with the team tonight ahead of the game against Utah.
In what could've been a flurry of offers from NHL teams, GM Kyle Davidson claimed that they received no compelling offers for the 46-point forward.
Despite his value at an all time high, the Blackhawks failed to cash in, and neither did the Bruins on his Donato's former teammate -
Brad Marchand.
A forward who has played himself up to the top-six in the Blackhawks organization, and found himself on special teams.
A story not many depth players are capable of creating in the league, but Donato did it.
He's captivated the fans with his rugged style of play, and his ferocity on the ice which has produced 23 goals this season.
Now, ahead of the game against the Utah Hockey Club, he was asked about his situation with the Blackhawks.
Donato's happy that he gets to remain in Chicago (we are too), he'll be due a raise for his excellent production this season.
He's scored 46 points, (23 G, 23 A) and has impressed us all this season with his stellar play in the
Blackhawks organization.
Donato's story is just the latest in NHL players who have rejuvenated their careers in the Windy City.
Instead of leaving the organization like others have in the past, like Ryan Donato, now he'll get a chance to leave a mark here.
Considering the fact he's started his family here, his confidence is infectious.
We're puzzled about the offers he received for Donato though, there was speculation whether or not he'd receive a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him.
Apparently, not good enough?
