Chicago Blackhawks make crucial goaltender swap prior to Winter Classic

The Chicago Blackhawks will be competing against the Dallas Stars this upcoming Sunday night at their home area, the United Center.

With recently low states, three loses in a row, and the Winter Classic approaching, the Hawks have recognized the importance of any last adjustments needed to succeed in this once in a lifetime event and have begun their final tune-up.

It has been confirmed that Arvid Soderblom will be hitting the ice this Sunday in replacement of Peter Mrazek.

This hasn't been Soderblom's first time taking over for Mrazek, as he has been the backup for majority of the season and has played for the Blackhawks during an absence of Mrazek due to an injury.

This move, however, does suggest the probability of Peter Mrazek stepping on the ice for the Winter Classic.

Mrazek, being a veteran and as the primary starter for Chicago for a couple years, does deserve the opportunity to participate in this event.

Although this years Winter Classic will not be Soderblom's time to shine, his skill level and ability to compete may lead him to a successful career with possibility of becoming starter for the next big game like this in the future.

Mrazek has what it takes to make the team succeed in this important game.

With years of experience, between a handful of teams, he has helped the Blackhawks by ensuring they have a stable goaltender to lean on as the development continues.

The Winter Classic will be a great opportunity and experience for many deserving players. Petr Mrazek being one of those very deserving players.
