Seth Jones may have hated it playing for the Chicago Blackhawks, but his teammates have been class acts and wished him well in his new home, Sunrise, Florida with the Panthers

Seth Jones was traded to the Florida Panthers this week, after negotiating through the media. Instead of letting the negativity seep through the locker room, while Amy Jones did damage control, Kyle Davidson did his job.
He traded him to the Florida Panthers, with a 2026 4th-round pick, and would receive goalie Spencer Knight, and a 2026 1st-round pick in return.
Now that Jones is gone, we can get an idea of how the locker room is feeling at the moment.
While there are not a lot of tears, his former teammates have nothing but positive thoughts for the defenseman.
The human element shines through trades, which comes after the business side ends.
Hockey in March and July is all about the business trades and signings ramp up.
"It's tough because he was a good leader for me." Lukas Reichel said after the game. "Whatever I had, I can tell him and ask him questions. It's definitely hard. But he's going to a good team, and I think that's what he wants. I hope he does well there."

Reichel has found his strides in the NHL thanks to veteran players like Jones, and Pat Maroon.
He's managed to lift himself off of the bench into the lineup, and we're sure he'll never forget what Jones did to help him.
Connor Murphy is another Hawks player who will desperately miss his presence in the lineup as well.
"The reality of not having a guy around, in the room, at dinners, or at home with you is hard." Murphy said. "He was such a great teammate & star player for us & led the way for us. It's hard losing teammates. Hard time of the year."

While as fans we can't help but be unhappy with how it all played out, he spoke how he felt about the team and leveraged what bargaining chips he had to achieve his goals.
He leaves behind teammates who know him, love him as a person, and hope to see him succeed in Florida.
"Obviously, it's disappointing. I've come to get to know him." Martinez said postgame. "Really good guy. You obviously wish him the best."

He may have a shot at a Stanley Cup in Florida, and that's the entire name of the game, right?
Lukas Reichel, Connor Murphy, and Alec Martinez are all class acts as they see his perspective and offer empathy which some of us might lack for a player who makes upwards of $9.5 million.
Jones will wear a Panthers crest in Sunrise, and join former Columbus Blue Jackets teammate, Sergei Bobrovsky.
The 2019 class of Blue Jackets players are everywhere in the NHL now. Maybe they can conjure some magic in 2025?
