The Chicago Blackhawks have a new goalie in town, Spencer Knight who was acquired in the Seth Jones trade, let's get to know him better.

Spencer Knight was a 13th overall draft pick in the 1st round of the 2019 NHL by the Florida Panthers.
He was acquired by the Chicago Blackhawks as they got him, and a 1st-round draft pick in return for defenseman Seth Jones.
He's a promising young talent and is one of the reasons GM Kyle Davidson made it a point to acquire him.
«He's someone that has met every challenge he's faced and has seemingly thrived at every level. We're really excited about getting a 23-year-old goalie that is just growing in his game, his career, and who has an upside that's pretty incredible,» added Davidson.

Knight stands out particularly for multiple reasons, as his scouting reports mention keywords such as "franchise goaltender" and "athleticism" on his scouting reports.
And he's continued to gain glowing reviews from NHL Analyst, with Sam Cosentino comparing him to Jake Oettinger of the Dallas Stars, a verifiable superstar.
This sounds exciting for Blackhawks fans, as the team doesn't have a true starting goaltender for the future.
Could Spencer Knight be it? He's had his ups and downs the last four seasons dealing with personal issues but has remained a reliable backstop to Sergei Bobrovsky in Florida all the while.
and
His career record in the NHL is a .906 SV%, with a 2.76 GAA in 80 games with the Panthers. The Blackhawks could find a way to squeeze him into the lineup and tap into his upside.
Knight's name made public headlines last season as he had to deal with personal issues related to OCD, which led him to the NHL/NHLPA Players Assistance Program, and isn't afraid of sharing his experience in the hopes it helps other people.
Now a member of the Blackhawks organization he can get a fresh start and prove he can be the player he's wanted to be, and meant to be in the NHL.
The organization has had a precarious situation in the net, and hopefully, Knight can be a solution in the net.
«I can still be the player I want to be, and I still believe I can be one of the best goalies in this league.»

And can be a mentor in the locker room, as it seems he prides himself on being someone who can help other people.
With the acquisition of Knight, it seems someone will be the odd-man out and given the team is focused on the future, it is not unreasonable to expect that Soderblom and Knight will share the crease from here on out.
