The Chicago Blackhawks could name a new Captain with Nick Foligno's absence, and it should go to Alex Vlasic.
The Chicago Blackhawks will be missing Captain Nick Foligno for an expected large amount of time.
That time means a vacuum of leadership missing, and with Jason Dickinson also injured they need to place an "A" on another player.
So why not, Wilmette, IL-born defenseman Alex Vlasic?
He's turned into a top-four defenseman for the organization and has proven himself a key piece in the lineup.

This season in 59 contests he's scored a total of 22 points (2 G, 20 A) on the Blackhawks' second pair.
This year however his placement has been different as his defensive partner right now is Alec Martinez.
A very good compliment to Vlasic's playstyle which is a two-way style that can contribute to the rush and shutdown of opposing players.
Now, is the team to give Vlasic the alternate-captain's patch.
