Goaltender Spencer Knight Delivers Stern Reminder to Connor Bedard and Blackhawks Teammates After Debut
The Chicago Blackhawks' newest goalie Spencer Knight backstopped the team to a decisive 5-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings and had a positive message to his new team
He'd give the Blackhawks a flying chance to win, making 41 saves on 42 shots against the Kings.
One of the best teams in the Pacific Division at the moment.
It'd been a whirlwind couple of days for Knight, as he'd be traded from one of the best organizations in the NHL to a rebuilding team in the Blackhawks.
He'd earn the team's victory belt after the resounding victory over a Kings team who are ready for a playoff spot.
The expectations he has for the Blackhawks were shown on the ice that night, as he is literally the Hawks' "Knight" in shining armor.
«We got a great group here. It doesn't matter if we're [expletive] first place or last, we're gonna win hockey games,» Knight strongly stated in the locker room.
Knight was continually tested all night, starting off the game from the 1st period under siege, facing 18 shots-on-goal.
He'd remain steadfast and continue to provide a consistent style of goaltending fans that fans in Chicago haven't seen in some time.
The Panthers have better defensive discipline, and if you wanna know how many he faced in his last game, it's astounding.
To put that into perspective, Knight had faced that amount of shots during his last game in Florida, when he posted a 17-save win over the Nashville Predators.
It's mindboggling, but Knight seems to be ready for the challenge and ready to win.
Knight could be the Blackhawks' new franchise goalie, depending on how he continues to guard the crease.
However, his confidence is infectious and hopefully is a sign of things to come for the Blackhawks organization.
«I said it, no matter how smoothly things are going, the first week or so is going to feel like chaos,» Knight admitted. «That's just the way it is. But I think I've learned to embrace that. I've been through a lot of difficult challenges in my life. It's another step in the journey.I think I'm looking to bring what I witnessed and was part of in Florida, bring it here.»
Knight's save percentage after last night was an elite .976%
