Embarrassing photos of San Jose Sharks vs Chicago Blackhawks attendance spark relocation rumors at SAP Center
The Chicago Blackhawks are currently on a 5-game road trip and tonight they will be in the SAP Center in San Jose.
The team has already cracked Mackenzie Blackwood for two-goals, with Ryan Donato and Tyler Bertuzzi contributing early.
However, the Blackhawks will continue to put their best foot forward, the audience for the Sharks isn't there.
This is the kind of crowd you'd expect to see in Columbus, or other rebuilding or expansion franchises, like Utah.
But the San Jose Sharks have been in the league for over three decades(since 1991) and it's apparent they cannot support their own team's rebuild.
Will Smith scored his 1st goal tonight, and the fourth overall pick in 2023 hasn't been witnessed as he should've.
That is an entirely pathetic situation for Mike Grier and the Sharks, as they're 2-7-2 in the regular season and could be "competing" for the 1st overall pick in 2025 too.
The Sharks are without future superstar Macklin Celebrini:
GM Mike Grier issued a statement: «As part of his rehabilitation plan, Macklin will return to team activities today. He has made positive progress over the past several weeks and this will be the next step toward returning to the active roster. We will continue to monitor his progress but no date has yet been set for his return to game action.»
Blackhawks Dominate the Sharks Early
The Blackhawks' goals tonight are Donato, and Bertuzzi in the 1st period:
Donato scored on the Sharks goalie Mackenzie Blackwood off of a feed from Ilya Mikheyev. Donato took a shot from the slot and tied the score after William Smith.
Bertuzzi got his first even-strength goal off of a rebound, totaling 2 for the year, with 10 games played this season. Could this be a turning point for the Blackhawks and Bertuzzi?
