The Blackhawks lit up the lamp once, as Frank Nazar did what he usually, does driving the play and creating scoring chances.
And that was what he did, as he tried to score on a wraparound on the St. Louis Blues goalie, Vadim Zherenko, who hasn't seen much action in the NHL.
The play would result in Nazar missing the goal completely while the Blues would attempt to clear the zone, while Ethan Del Mastro would gain possession and pass it to Ryan Donato.
From there he'd from a rocket and score on the St. Louis Blues goalie, as the Blackhawks are playing with the kind of ferocity we missed from the last 4 preseason games this season.
Ethan Del Mastro received the assist on the play, and Donato has proven himself to be a great depth scoring option for Chicago.
The Blackhawks 2nd line has been proven to be deadly tonight and we hope they strike again soon!
Frank Nazar played 3 games for the Chicago Blackhawks last season scoring 1 point in 3 games.
Last season Donato played 78 games for the Chicago Blackhawks, scoring 30 points( 12 G, 18 A), and will be a reliable contributor for the Blackhawks.
Donato has one year left on his $2 Million AAV deal with the Blackhawks before he becomes a UFA. Will his play lead to him staying longer with the Blackhawks, or is he more of a short-term placed holder for the team?
We'll find out.
