The odds were turned last night as one of the worst teams in Chicago Blackhawks history happened to make franchise history yesterday afternoon.

Off the opening draw, Ryan Donato fought for the faceoff at center ice. It was won by Donato and he proceeded to just chip it up the ice.
Landon Slaggert had some speed coming up the wing, picked up the puck, and slid it in five hole against Sergei Bobrovsky seven seconds in. It was the fastest goal in franchise history.
Landon Slaggert scores 7 seconds into the game against Florida. What a start. #Blackhawks
Landon Slaggert, at just 22 years old, gets his name written down in Chicago's record books.
Slaggert was called back up to the Hawks last week and scored in his first game back. Now, he scored the opening goal against the Florida Panthers seven seconds in.
Slaggert, in three games, has those two goals on the points sheet.
He was a third-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft and after his time with the University of Notre Dame when he scored 31 points in 20 games, there was a lot of fans who had high hopes for him.
Slaggert played for the Rockford Icehogs to start this season and had ten goals for 25 points in 39 games and was playing well.
Slaggert can be a good bottom-six piece for the future.
Unfortunately, after the opening goal, nothing else happened for the Blackhawks as the Panthers took full control of the game and won 5-1.
It's surprising that of all the names who have come through the Windy City, such as Hull, Chelios, Mikita, even Kane, to name a few, Slaggert is the one who set that record and no one scored faster than seven seconds into a game.
