It was announced that Jessica Campbell would be coaching the Seattle Kraken behind the bench, making her the first woman to be behind the bench in NHL history.

This isn't her first time making history, as in 2022, she was the first woman to be behind the bench in the AHL on the Coachella Valley Firebirds, the Kraken's affiliate.
Chris Tanev, the 32-year-old veteran defenseman, had nothing but good things to say about Campbell.
"Yeah, that's such an amazing moment for her. She's been in Coachella for the last two years with Dan (Bylsma) and been part of his staff. Obviously, she deserves to be, where she is, and that's amazing growth for the game. We are all super excited to have her behind our bench and listen and learn from her. Have her knowledge that she brings to the game to us."

The Kraken have been struggling the last couple seasons, only making the playoffs in their first season in 2021-22. They hope Campbell behind the bench can bring some positive energy to the team and get them back to the playoffs.
