16 year old hockey player is fighting for his life after a horrible tragedy over the weekend

16-year old hockey player, Colin Brown, is now fighting for his life following a tragedy this past weekend that's sent chills through the hockey world.

The young boy who plays for Christian Brothers College High School and the Affton Americans, was traveling home from a game he played in when he was struck by a bullet.

While traveling back from a game with his father, shots were fired into the vehicle and struck 16-year old Colin Brown.

His father, who was in the vehicle, instantly raced towards law enforcement and emergency services in hopes to save his sun.

On Sunday November 24, Colin was supposed to hit the ice with his CBC High School teammates when they faced off against the Seckman Jaguars Hockey Club, but the game was canceled due to the tragedy that occured on Saturday night.

16-year old Colin Brown's father took to social media to voice his opinion on the matter, and also revealed that he is a former member of law enforcement.

"As a family and as a former law enforcement official with over 28 years of experience, we believe that greater efforts are needed in the City of St. Louis and the surrounding region to support the police and equip them with the necessary tools to combat such senseless, violent gun crimes,"
Stated Colin's father, who shared the message on Facebook.

This story is begining to gain the recongition it deserves, and the support around Colin has reached NHL players and even former referees such as Tim Peel.
