5 Thoughts: Chicago Blackhawks
The Chicago Blackhawks lost to the Minnesota Wild, 4-3.
1. Shootout: The game went into a shootout, after no one could score in Overtime. There were a couple good chances by both teams.
2. Physical Game: It was very physical. A lot of hits, two fights, and a lot of pushing and shoving and exchanging words. Boris Katchouk had a huge hit, arguably the biggest hit all season. Tinordi got into a fight, but brought Hartman down in one pull.
3. Beautiful Goal: Andreas Athanasiou made a phenomenal goal, arguably goal of the year so far. He had a one-on-one chance coming down the ice. He dangled around him, and while falling down shot the puck and it went into the back of the net.
4. Can't Keep a Lead: The Hawks just can't keep a lead. They can't. They were leading twice, but in total they were in the lead for only 39 seconds. Our defense has struggled all year, but our goaltending has to be better too.
5. Blackhawks Outplayed: The Minnesota Wild had the puck for most of the game. They also had the puck a lot in their offensive zone as well. Chicago also got outshot again. The defense has struggled last year, and it may be even more of a problem this year.
