Jagr will be returning with the team he owns, Rytři Kladno. He'll be playing in their upcoming game against Pardubice today!
This unexpected return also means Jagr will have to wait until 2027 for his shot at the Hockey Hall of Fame. In the upcoming game, he'll be on the second line with former New Jersey Devils prospect Jaromir Pytlik and experienced Czech-league forward Jakub Strnad.
Jagr is joining Kladno because the team is struggling, sitting at 13th out of 14 teams in the top Czech league. With only four wins this season and recent losses, Kladno hopes Jagr's return will help them score more.
Considered one of the greatest NHL players, Jagr had an impressive career with 1,921 points in 24 years the most by a European player. He had 15 seasons with at least 70 points, won the Art Ross Trophy five times, and scored a career-high of 127 points in 1998-99.
Jagr also did well in Czech leagues, getting 169 points in 169 games in the top league and 20 points in 28 games in the second division.
The game against Pardubice is set for 12:00 PM ET, and Kladno is hoping for their first win against them this season.
