Lately, there's been talk about Connor Bedard, the rookie sensation for the Chicago Blackhawks, not getting much ice time in certain game situations, especially in dying moment of the game where a goal is much needed, Bedard finds himself benched for long periods of time.

Fans are curious why the 18-year-old, known for his scoring ability, isn't consistently out there on the rink.

Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson was asked why Connor Bedard does not see the ice in every situation, and he gave quite the funny response to the media:

"I think he will see every situation some of it will be from the bench."

While Bedard shines in offensive plays, his defense is a work in progress. Right now, he's got the second-worst plus-minus rating on the Blackhawks with a -15 for the season. It's not the only measure of defensive skills, but it gives us a sense compared to his teammates.

Bedard's defensive game is expected to improve over time. There's hope that he'll become an all-situations player for the Blackhawks eventually.
